Saving, Sharing & Account Questions

Not to design. Drawing walls, placing cabinets, 2D and 3D, elevations, the countertop drawing and the running quote all work signed out. You sign in — with Google, free, no card — when you want to save, load, publish, export, run SW Design, or use the AI extras. Google is the only sign-in; there is no password to invent.

A signed-in session lasts about eight hours, after which the designer signs you out and the next Save prompts you to sign in again. It is worth saving before you walk away from a long session rather than after.

💾 Save writes the design to your account. The first save asks for a project name, mints a ten-character project ID and copies the share link to your clipboard; every later save writes back to that same project. Save As always creates a new project instead, which is how you branch a design to try something without risking the original.

Anything you have not saved is not kept — so save early, and save before closing. Once a design is saved it belongs to your account and opens on any computer you sign in from, either through 📂 Load in the designer or from the Projects list on the start page.

📂 Load opens the design library: folders you create and drag designs into, a search box that takes either a name or the ten-character ID, sorting by newest, oldest or name, and a grid or list view. Hovering a name shows its thumbnail. The start page also keeps a Recent Projects strip for the ones you touched last.

Every saved design has a share link — copied automatically on the first save, and available any time from Copy share link on the design’s card in the library. Anyone you send it to can open the design in their own browser and look round it in 2D and 3D, whether or not they have an account.

No. They can move things around on their own screen, but they cannot write over your copy: when someone who is not the owner saves a shared design, it lands as a new project in their own list and yours is untouched. Only the account that created a design saves back to that ID.

↓ Export, then tick the sheets you want — the elevation wall by wall, the top view, the countertop drawing, a 3D photo, any renders, even pictures from your own computer. Preview PDF shows the page order and you can drag the pages into the order you want before saving. Name and save the design first, since the export asks for a name. And note that Ctrl/⌘ + P opens Export, not the browser’s print dialog.

Nothing is public until you publish it. 🌐 Publish to Community saves the design and posts it to the public gallery, where anyone can browse it, like it and Remix it — Remix opens a copy in their own designer, so your original is never touched.

The gallery is open to the whole internet, including people who are not signed in, and each card carries the design name, its thumbnail and the account that published it — at the moment that is the email address you signed in with. So publish the kitchens you are happy to have public, and if you want one taken down, delete the underlying design or email us and we will pull it.

A design is deleted from its card in the design library. Deleting the account is not in the website’s own screens yet — email info@flipkitchen.ca and we will remove the account together with its designs, projects, uploads and saved renders.

Yes — Settings → 🎨 Material Library takes your own door colours and countertop textures as images, plus .glb models for lighting, chairs and decoration. They save to your account, sync across your devices and appear in the designer beside the built-in ones. Floor, wall, hardware and moulding uploads are still to come.

English, 中文 and Français — the picker sits at the top right of every main page and the choice follows you around the site. The designer also has a ☀ / 🌙 button for its light and dark themes.
